VISA RENEWAL FOR STUDENT AND WORK VISAS

Visa Renewal for Student and Work Visas (Updated November 10, 2021)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Embassy in Amman remains unable to resume routine visa operations. We are currently offering as many appointments as local conditions, resources, and safety considerations allow in mission-critical visa categories, including a limited number of appointments for petition-based employment visas, student visas, and exchange visitor visas. The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased until September 30, 2022. We encourage all applicants to be mindful of the constraints and to apply early. Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis as capacity allows.

If you currently have a valid F, M, J, H, or L visa (F1, F2, M1, M2, J1, J2, H1B, H4, L1A, L1B, or L2) in your passport and need to renew your visa at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, please bring all required documentation and your passport to the Embassy on one of the following days from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Sundays: November 14, 21, or 28, and December 5, 12, or 19
Wednesdays: December 1, 8, 15, 22, or 29.
Please note: a new photo is required. Submitting the same photo as your prior visa will result in a processing delay. Applicants, who arrive outside of these scheduled times or who do not bring all required documentation, will not be permitted to submit their renewal applications. The Embassy will make all efforts to process the renewals quickly but cannot guarantee visa issuance or timeline of the application process. Your passport and visa will be returned to you via Aramex.
